Dog × The Windrunner
Chases gaps too, but once set on one wind, bites down hard and won't let go.
The Windrunner chases the gap and moves before the gap closes. The Dog, even when it goes after a wind, bites down on one and will not jump around. So you are the rare runner who can sense a chance and still stay loyal to it, the one who does not get pulled off by every brighter wind that blows past.
Here is your edge. You hold the chosen chance all the way to the end. Where other Windrunners scatter, leaping from opening to opening and finishing none, you lock on and stay. The wind you picked is the wind you ride, and a new gust does not lure you off mid-stride. That steadiness in motion is rarer than it sounds.
Here is the place it traps you. The Dog turns too dogged and you keep your grip on the chosen gap even after it has plainly gone off, after the wind died and you are running on the memory of it. Loyalty to a chance becomes refusing to admit the chance is gone. The Bow-and-Arrow stars fly fast and true, and an arrow loosed at a target that already moved still flies, into nothing. The Waxing Gibbous sweeps the sky and even a sweep has to know when to stop. Some weeks, check whether the wind you are chasing is still blowing before you spend another stride on it.
