The weakness is just as plain: both endure too well, neither speaks up first to say "I need looking after too," so they bury each other's needs together and cave together once it's too much, leaving everyone around them startled.

How they work · (1) ask each other "are you white-knuckling something lately?" on a schedule, before the cave-in. (2) practice being the one who speaks first; "I'd like to be cared for too" isn't a loss of face. (3) start a small change on purpose, so steady doesn't turn into no one daring to move.
