Green Sprout (Wood) × The Lone Edge

They strike the vital point, but the blade goes at the problem, not the person; they would rather see that person grow.

The Lone Edge cuts to the quick in a word, sharp and solitary. Wood lays a goodwill cushion under the blade, so the edge goes at the problem and not the person, and under the hard word lies a "for your sake." So you strike the vital point with a wish folded into the strike, the cut aimed to fix the thing and leave the person standing, even better than before. You would rather see them grow than see them stung.

You solve the problem fast and you never forget to bring the person along, which most Edges cannot manage at once. The sharpness lands where it does the most good, and you stay to help carry what the cut opened up. Deneb is the lofty solitary star, high and distant and bright by itself, and you keep that altitude, your edge honed where no one stands near. People take your hard words because they can feel the care holding the handle.

Here is the catch the green hides. What you call "kindly straight talk" still cuts, and inside the easy shell the hardness is real, so the goodwill does not always soften the blade as much as you think it does. The lone-peak Cold Moon hangs high and waning, bright over an empty ridge. You meant it gently and it still drew blood, the care invisible under the edge. Some cuts need the warmth said out loud after, not just meant underneath where no one can hear it.
