Thick Loam (Earth) × The Beacon-Bearer

They burn for the ideal, but they lay an escape route before they light the match.

The Beacon-Bearer runs forward with the torch held high, ready to burn down to nothing for the cause. Earth lays a steady road under those feet, so the fire has something to travel on that does not give way. So you charge with everyone else, conviction blazing, while the ground beneath you turns the would-be martyr into a runner who simply does not stop. Earth gives the blaze its staying power, mile after mile.

This is your edge over every other Beacon-Bearer on the chart. They flare bright and burn dry by week three. You burn long, because the road holds and you keep moving over it. Arcturus chases the light and never looks back, and you almost match it, except your stride stays even where theirs goes ragged. Conviction set on solid ground means you are the one still walking when the others have flamed out by the roadside.

Here is the catch the ground builds in. Safety and fire pull against each other in you, so you want to charge and you fear the risk at once, and you stall in place, treading the same ground in a slow circle. The torch is up, the road is open, and your feet will not commit. The rising Waxing Crescent is the first sliver after the dark, all forward momentum, none of it spent yet. Some fights ask you to leave the safe road and run straight at the dark.

A mirror, not a prophecy. It reflects you as you are right now. How you walk is still yours to choose.
